That imaginative team at Smart Fish is at it again, this time ginning up a new design for a sleek personal aircraft that uses its unique aerodynamic shape for a new level of efficiency and simplicity. Designed for an unusually long range of 3100 miles and Mach 0.85 speed, this easy-to-fly jet looks like it would be able to swim with the fishes as well as soar with the eagles.
Smart Fish plans to license its technology to the aerospace industry, and so far has completed a round of wind tunnel testing, as well as flying a scale model. Unlike the company's fuel-cell-powered HyFish design we showed you nearly three years ago, this one uses conventional fuel and propulsion, aiming for fewer moving parts and lower cost.
