This steering wheel desk is a flat-out terrible idea

This steering wheel desk is a flat-out terrible idea

Here's a bad idea: a desk that attaches to the bottom of your steering wheel. Not only does it promote doing work behind the wheel, which is an obvious distraction, but it appears to also make it impossible to really turn the wheel.

Sure, in theory this is meant for use while parked. But guess what? People will use it while driving, because people are idiots. And do you really want to be on the road with someone doing their taxes on a desk attached to their steering wheel?

I agree, its an alright idea but it will be misused, they will get sued and they will bankrupt, it will be torn from the market, the end.

I agree to adhere to the terms and agreements of said product and not be a dickhead and use it while driving..I promise...XP

Er, it won;t be possible to use it whilst driving - it's attached to the steering wheel meaning that when the wheel is turned, oops - there goes all your work and your cup of Starbucks coffee. Of course people won't use it whilst driving, will they? Anyway, I would love something like this - I often sit in my car to have my lunch, as the workplace canteen is disgusting. This would make a great bookrest or place to eat your sandwiched from - no more balancing my lunch on my leg - or to be more accurate - no more picking my lunch off the mats in the footwell! Yay!.

What if the diabolical minds behind this have a gimbal mechanism installed which always keeps the tray level no matter which way the steering wheel is turned. Now that would be something. It would probably change the course of the world! [Now insert maniacal laugh].

I haven't used public transportation in 4 years... am I gonna have to dump my car and switch back now?

SERIOUSLY a bad idea.

You HAVE to read the comments and see the 5 star customer reviews to full appreciate how FABULOUS this product idea is.. no seriously.. people did a great job of explaining exactly why you DO NOT want this product on the market. I laughed until I got a cramp.

Has anyone noticed the steering wheel in the picture is UPSIDE DOWN, and that by the looks of how it locks in, couldn't be secured when the wheel is right-side up?

So yeah, feel free to use it while driving, as long as the route is a hard, hard turn. I would love this thing for writing notes when parked, etc.

Great, as if women applying make up, and men shaving, and everyone texting isn't bad enough. Now, lets give them some other way to be distracted while driving...

Can't be any worse than that episode of the Simpson's in which Homer discovered various automotive gadgets to take life on the road with him. What did he do? He had a deep fryer installed in the dashboard of the car.

Seriously, though, this would be an ideal way to make your vehicle into a mobile office when you're on the go. I would like one since I do spend time waiting between classes at school or waiting to clock in at either of my two jobs. Of course, I'd be smart enough to realize this steering wheel desk is only meant to be used when parked, not driving.

My wife is a home health care provider. She does paperwork in the car all day.

This would be great for her.

BTW: She doesn't do it while driving.

That is a great idea. Now you can have something to do on those two hour ferry rides and steakouts! This would be handy for anyone who works from thair car.
