Hoping to corner the market on touchscreen smartphones in Japan, Softbank has now started offering what many see as an iPhone clone in the Dynapocket X02T. The phone runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 and has a slightly larger form factor that makes it a bit handier for using the phone as a substitute ebook reader.
With a menu layout that closely mirrors that of the iPhone, the 3G network-enabled Dynapocket also offers Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a 1-gigahertz CPU, access to Windows Marketplace for Mobile and YouTube video playback. Speaking of YouTube, you can see recent video of film director Quentin Tarantino cavorting in a new Softbank commercial here.

Windows Mobile? That's the kiss of death; Windows Mobile is the Edsel of phone operating systems. It's slow, bloated, unstable, unreliable, expensive... In short, it's exactly the opposite of what you need to run your phone.

I believe it *is* the TG01....

Dynapocket is actually a piece of software which is designed to do real-time translating.
Either way, if this phone turns out to be OK, I hope toshiba can samsh the iphone and force apple to clean up their sloppy, arrogant business practices.
iphone apps: amazing
actuall iphone: badly designed hunk of crap

Why is it that whenever someone releases an all touchscreen phone, it gets pegged as an iPhone ripoff? By that logic, I would call the iPhone a palm ripoff, and an LG Prada I ripoff. Morons.
