Sleep deprivation seems to be one of the worst aspects of traveling. That's why we'd like to see this Sleep Box, designed by Russian architects Arch Group, as a standard fixture in every airport in the world.
For rent for between 15 minutes and several hours, they'll be a whole lot bigger than those cramped Japanese capsule hotels that resemble slide-out drawers in a morgue, yet smaller than the mini-rooms at New York's Pod Hotel or the Singapore airport's Ambassador Transit Hotel.
It looks just right, the perfect place to catch up on your sleep between long flights. We like its clever design, with sheets that are automatically changed by winding from one roller to another, just like a conveyor belt. Each Sleep Box is decked out with an LCD display, Wi-Fi, a place to stash your luggage, and plenty of sockets for charging up your laptop and cell phone. Sure beats sleeping in a chair.

I ahree with hal9000.. These will become 'quickie boxes' and have a disturbing glow from any UV light source. Great idea, wrong planet. Earth isn't mature enough.

Yeah......this won't work for one basic principle. Humans tend to horrible defile anything that doesn't actually belong to them. And that's just for the average folk. Imagine what some sick freak would do in there. ERRRGGG. That just gave me the hebbie-jebbies. I would rather sleep naked in a bed made of roofing insulation before I'd step foot in one of those things.

Perhaps a better name might be "Fornicating Box." Down here in Miami, MIA is considering bringing in quarter horse racing along with slots to help meet its expenses. Maybe they could get into the pimping business for a piece of the action, making Miami the new Amsterdam.

They once had something quite similar to this at the Copenhagen airport, except there was an attendant station where you paid, and they controlled who went in and out of each booth.
Not sure if it's still there.

If the idea is to provide a comfortable, quiet place to lie down and sleep instead of trying to hopelessly find a comfortable position in airport chairs, I don't see why you couldn't have these with a whole side made of glass. That would keep the noise out while ensuring ppl don't take advantage of it. Beats sleeping in a chair anyway.

What happens if someone keeps knocking on the side of your cubicle like you were in a fish bowl? How quiet are these things?

The fact that some would use this great idea to support their feelings of moral superiority is, in it self, disturbing
