Where most of you are concerned, I am sure that the phrase "gun control" means one thing. Well, in skateboard land, it's about to mean another. The Xero e-board Neo has a top speed of 14 mph (and can get there in around four seconds — ooh, gnarly) and can roll for around 13.5 miles on a full charge, which takes between three and four hours. But the best bit has got to be the remote-control unit. Yep. Is that a pistol on your skateboard, or are you just pleased to see me?
The Neo is now on sale for £220 — that's around $360 — just in time for Christmas. Just one question: at what does one point the gun-shaped remote control to go faster? Not at passers by, I assume.

Am I being too paranoid when I say that a cop seeing a teen - speeding past on a skateboard wielding what appears to be a weapon - is likely to freak and tackle / taser / baton/ shoot the poor teen?
oh and 4 attempts at captcha too- why bother?

I would paint that remote another color. I sure wouldn't want to be skating around with something black and pistol shaped in my hand, especially down here in South Florida.

This clearly brings a new danger to skate boarding. This is a very terrible idea of the company. I realize that the traditional gun shape is very comfortable for these speed controlls, but surely they must have realized what someone riding through the a city will look like. If the police don't stop you then someone will chase your ass down in Boston for going down the street with a what appears to be a hand gun. I highly suggest anyone who considers buying this to follow Hectors example and paint it some other color, preferably a neon color (it's better to look rediculous then get shot, unless of course it is a matter of pride on the line.) I can only assume the company that produced this board really hates it's customers.

I think it's pretty cool. Dangerous? Schmagerous. Real skate boarders live for the thrill and wouldn't think twice about getting one (if they could afford it). Hell, it makes me want to get back on a skateboard and I haven't been on one since WE MADE THEM OURSELVES from left over roller skates.

just noticed that for some reason they attached a piece of plastic on the top resembling the standard iron sight, not really sure why they would need an aiming mechanism for this.
