Ged Galvin has a bionic bum and he uses a remote control to operate it.
The 55-year-old IT project manager from Barnsley in the U.K. was severely injured after a car crash, and as a result was forced to rely on a colostomy bag to do his business. After a little surgery, however — which saw a muscle above his knee relocated to his rear end and fitted with electrodes — a remote control tied to the muscle now allows Galvin to control his sphincter.
"They call me the man with the bionic bottom, but that doesn't bother me. My gratitude to the surgeons is endless because what they have done is a miracle," Galvin remarked. "The operation changed my life and gave me back my pride and confidence. Because of the remote control I can lead a normal life again."

Well, that last comment is kind of a contradiction, cause a normal life, in my opinion, doesn't involve a remote controlled poo. Maybe its just me.

It beats having to carry a colostomy bag around with you at all times and emptying it when it's full by a country mile.

I'm sure the remote is wifi, bluetooth or RF since line of sight IR would be a bit uncomfortable. Anyone wanna chance the 12 yr old neighbor kid hacking Uranus?

My heroes are those who figure out how to live with the pouch and get on with their lives. Enjoy, create, contribute in spite of the modest inconvenience. Many of them are in the video you can see on the UOAA website.

It's funny - but if it happened to me, and they fixed it with a bit of muscle surgery, I'd be sooo thrilled too. Incontinence is really a very unhappy thing to live with.

I was born with a imperfated Anus, and also have short bowl syndrome. I had a colostomy bag, but had it reversed, now i go to the john constantly, possible 10-15 times a day. Before I go back to the bag I would love to look into this, if anyone knows any contact info on this man or his surgeons please let me know. Email me at Jesusrawks@aol.com
