Gauntlet watchphone bravely pretends watchphones are relevant

Watchphones don't make much sense, do they? Why wear your phone on your wrist, where its bulk will be extremely annoying, when you can keep a more fully-functional device in your pocket? But hey, don't tell that to the makers of the Gauntlet watchphone!

The phone, which connects to a Bluetooth headset for calls, has a touchscreen face for interacting with features such as a music player and very basic email reader. Oh, and it tells the time, naturally. If it was 1980, this thing would be amazing, but it's 2009, and it isn't.

I think you are wrong. Remember I said this, 'cause the idea of carrying a phone in your pocket or always holding it in your hand will soon be outdated and very unfashionable.

Are you kidding...Who doesn't want all that on their wrist...sure it's a little bulky, but so what...it's on your wrist. From Knight Rider fans, to Power Ranger fans (whether they admit it or not...) who doesn't want to talk into their wrist.

Well, at least we are closer to Dick Tracy's radio watch than we were when the movie came out.

Screen to small...not good screen design...

By alex at 9:30 PM ON 11/17/09

hello, lloyd.
1.5 and 1.8 inch screen is popular now. more than the above photo.

And congrats to Alex for the quick China-spam. The original product comes from Chinavasion: What the author forgets is that the target audience grew up in the 80s so this is actually completely awesome to several hundred million people: http://www.chinavasion.com/product_info.php/pName/gauntlet-stainless-steel-quad-band-watchphone-mp4/

haha, George. you are the China-spam.
