

A researcher at the Jozef Stefan institute in Slovenia has come up with a skiing robot that uses two computing systems, one for vision and route planning, the other for stabilization and steering. While not quite as cool as Johnny 5, the knee-high automaton can do a slow slalom, and communicates with the gates using a USB camera and a GPS system.
It's not the first time we've seen technology and snow collide, but the Ski'bot is probably the cutest. Check the blooper reel after the jump.
