Rotating restaurants have been around for decades, but building an entire hotel that rotates to give every guest a view is a much tougher challenge. That's the plan for a new hotel to be built on Ĺ olta Island on the Croatian coast, where every room will have an ocean view at least part of the time.
Rotating at the dizzying speed of 1.3 times per day, it's unlikely that you'll get vertigo, but you'll still need to choose carefully if you want to catch a sunset view over the marina with your honey. Still, it beats checking in only to discover that your room faces the dumpsters out back.

Actually, at 1.3 times per day you only have to stay 3 nights to be guaranteed a sunset view.
I wonder what the average stay at an island resort is.
I suspect they did their homework before they proposed that speed of rotation.

First of all, is this planned for Dubai? Just checking.
Second, what happens when you go on a bender and forget your room number and lose your (everything) wallet... If the only thing you remember is that your room was how to get to your room, chances are it won't be the same when you come back.

Wow... that didn't make any sense at all... What I meant to say was:
If the only thing you remember about your room was how to get to your room, chances are it won't be the same when you come back.

to thisisonlyatest: what are you talking about? so every rotating hotel that is built or planed to be built is design for Dubai? and second of all, are you blind? cuz if you have watches news for past 2 YEARS you would know that Dubai is done....finito ..bankrupt and back to the desert that it was 8 yrs ago
By x-rayed at 3:27 AM ON 10/19/09
greeni, no offense, i think you watch to much "news" for your own good.
By Jenna Patrick at 8:20 AM ON 10/19/09
Yeah, Dubai has gotten a little in over its head with these ridiculus projects. I am surprised so much money is still pouring into them.
By greeni at 2:50 PM ON 10/19/09
x-rayed..why should I be offended? go on youtube, search "Dubai bankrupt "and i'm not saying look at any news, just watch what their own government/princes have to say about their own country and how it became a ghost town, how ppl leave their cars at the airport and run away, all unfinished projects since all the money is out then you will wish there was a delete option so you could take your (no offense) stupid reply out.

greeni, I think you might need to chill out a bit. He asked as simple question and you started hurling insults:
"are you blind?"
"take your (no offense) stupid reply out."
For all we know, they may have been agreeing with you wondering if Dubai was spending money on a questionable project in light of financial problems. God knows that its not limited to UAE, even American investors have thrown money at silly projects.

greeni: Thanks for ignoring the sarcasm in my post... The idea was that many of the craziest construction project in the past few years (like say 10 years) have been Dubai... There's a cracked.com article about world's craziest building (which I'm too lazy to look up) which has Dubai listed at least twice for really bizarre buildings.
Nevermind what their financial state is right now... the point was that Dubai has some crazy structures.
JP: Thanks... LOL... Good thing I don't go on benders like I used to.
