The week's FPD International 2009 event in Yokohama, Japan gave LG a chance to show off its new 15-inch transparent OLED display. Designed for use in public spaces for advertisements, maps and interface applications, this new display dynamic would definitely revolutionize the advertising industry from an aesthetic perspective.
Samsung also displayed a smaller-sized version of a similar concept display at the event. LG plans to release this technology as a commercial solution at some point, but a firm release date has yet to be set.

Wow. The tech world is catching up to CSI:Miami. I've never seen a forensic lab with so many fictional devices. I love how they throw images, etc, onto the oversized transparent screen. I don't expect that any city, even Miami, will throw down the cash to buy these hi-tech devices. Like the latest OLED screens, this can't be cheap.

You know that is the first thing I'm gonna do...lol

Is this the same screen technology demonstrated in the movies like "Matrix Revolution", "Minority Report", or even "Iron-Man" coming to fruition? So, basically now we can expect this "see-thru" displays integrated into racecar driver, fighter pilot helmet visors to give them instant tactical or enviro data or anything else they need to be aware of. I think we can expect something like HALO's Masterchief helmets for our police, EMT, combat soldiers, or even extreme PC GAMERS very soon in the near future once LG focuses their transparent OLED tech towards industries more interesting than the commercial field.

Now imagine a Flexible transparent OLED display to replace the window shield of a car and have Heads up navigation, caller ID, radio or even Video calls with out taking your eyes off the road.
