Bamboo keyboard and mouse are green as you can get

Bamboo keyboard and mouse are green as you can get

Hey you, bamboo, the fastest growing plant on earth: Pretty soon everything will be made of you. Brando's jumping on the bamboo bandwagon with this keyboard and mouse combo, with the tech inside mimicking their non-biodegradable plastic counterparts.

That optical mouse looks pretty clunky, but we could see ourselves getting used to the wooden keyboard, making us feel better about our ever-expanding carbon footprint while enjoying the unlikely pairing of high-tech and wood. Bambooya!

The keyboard's $39, the mouse is $19, or get them both together for $52.

Point of interest, bamboo is not wood. Although it is usually found in wood categories (hardwood floors), it is a grass. The main distinction as I understand it, is that as a grass, bamboo can be cut, and it continues growing! (Think about it).

Also, i love the way bamboo feels, so a keyboard would be awesome.

I work for a woodworking company. We thought these might be a neat novelty, so the boss had me buy one.

It does look better than it works. The mouse is a flat, rounded block. Some of the keys on the keyboard are laid out strangely. The keys are plastic, as is most of the guts.

I've had 3 people here express interest in having them. Each took them, plugged them in, used them for awhile, then gave them back.

Oh, well...

As if pandas didn't have it hard enough. Now they need to compete with bamboo devices.

It looks somewhat pretty... I just wonder what happens when your keyboard starts to biodgarde in the middle of an Unreal Tournament game or something...

This actually reminds me of another "wooden" keyboard I saw somewhere (I'm thinking it was the scrabble keyboard or something).

I've got it! We need to make Panda fur devices... But one problem... How are we gonna mark the keys when they're all furry?

Oh well, we'll let the customer figure that one out.
