Connect the graphically enhanced Visual Voltage to your electrical system, and you get a real-time and bluesy representation of your electricity use around the clock. Swedish designers Loove Broms, Karin Ehrnberger, and Sara Llstedt Hjelm will be showing this prototype at Design September Brussels 2009 starting tomorrow.
It hangs on the wall like an ordinary clock, and it's somehow connected to your power meter, probably wirelessly. Considering there are already wireless power usage meters already on the market, this beautifully designed prototype with its elegant graphical display could be close to reality.
Neat idea. Maybe if you see exactly how much energy you're using all day and night, it'll remind you to save some here and there. Take a look at two more pics:

So how much electricity does this waste to determine its use, so that it can remind you to save energy here and there ^_^

I don't know... I kinda dig it. I can point to it and tell the kids "See, that spike there is when you guys come hoe from school!" ... then guilt them into some lawn work.
