This $175,000 projector probably isn't worth the money

This $175,000 projector probably isn\'t worth the money

You think your 46-inch HDTV is big? You think it's a nice way to watch movies? Eh, it's OK. If you were really serious about your home theater, you'd drop $175,000 on a projector serious enough to be put in a movie theater.

The JVC DLA-RS4000 can put an image on your wall up to 21 feet in size, making that LCD TV of yours seem downright puny in comparison. The projector can handle 4K resolution, which is four times that of HD. Sure, there isn't any content out there at that resolution, but by the time it is you'll be all set. Totally worth it!

What a waste... too much expense for a product with no current market, except big money fat cats with more money than sense. Now, give us some 4K content, and all that changes.

What is *really* needed is native 2.35:1 video chips. THAT is something the home theater owner could use ASAP!

and yeah, there's little need for this in anyone's home. But reading further it doesn't seem designed for home use. talk of four screen projection (four presumably different hi- def signals at once) on movie theater size screens... Also not needed of course since there's been pro gear to do same for quite a while now but still...
