Steve Jobs announced iPhone OS 3.1 for iPhone and iPod Touch. Beyond bug fixes, it'll include Bluetooth voice control, remote passcode lock, improved syncing, enhanced iTunes support, direct copy of contact info, new camera APIs, sponsored links in Maps, and improved Exchange calendar syncing.
The best news is, it's going to be free, and it's available today.

What a crock that is. It is not free, as you claim, they ask you to pay 5 dollars for the new updates.

It was free for me, (took forever to download and install) you are either using a itouch or you failed at some thing.

It is free if you already have V3.0, the $5 update is to go from pre 3.0 to post 3.0.
