Doesn't seem like it saves that much space and that it would be annoying to connect and disconnect every time you wanted to play.

I'll bet that half the people that buy this will end up leaving it fully assembled in the corner out of laziness. On the other hand it seems like it would be useful if you're going to a party and the host only has one controller.
