If you've been hit by the recession and couldn't bear to sell your iPhone, then you might be interested in the iPhone recession case. Made of recycled cardboard, it comes in flatpack form and you just practice a bit of basic origami to assemble it.
There's a nicely done FAQ on the product page which will tell you if it's waterproof, flammable or will cause you paper cuts — and, most important, if carrying the recession case will make the user awesome. At just 99 cents it's a snip!

Is this better to a tree hugger than not having an ipod case? It's probably better to wait and get a durable one. If this is less than half as durable it's twice as wasteful, and it doesn't look very durable.
When I can't afford to get a quality case for portable electronics, I keep them in a zippy bag or wrap them up in a handkerchief until I've saved up for quality device protection.
I also keep handkerchiefs, which are surprisingly useful. great for drying my hands in bathrooms with those awful blow dryers, and not wasting tissues when i take snuff.

So eco-chic!
I also carry handkerchiefs. Happy Hanky handkerchiefs are my favorite because of their fun designs and colors.
