iTwinge adds a physical keyboard to the iPhone

The iPhone's touchscreen keyboard has been working just fine for the millions of people who have bought it since launch. But if you're one of those people who just can't live without a physical keyboard on your phone no matter what, well, the horribly-named iTwinge is for you.

The iTwinge is a physical keyboard that slides over the bottom of your iPhone, allowing you to type with actual keys. Of course, if they keyboard isn't on screen, it'll just block the whole bottom half, but who cares, right? A physical keyboard! At last you can sleep through the night.

Wow. Ugly! Case of a solution looking for a problem?

I don't know why so many people hate on the virtual keyboard without actually giving it a shot. This accessory is ugly, takes up half of the screen. Any person with one of these things is just too lazy to learn to use the iPhone keyboard or too stubborn to get a blackberry or something else with a keyboard. http://ZiggyTek.com/

Or you could just buy a Blackberry or other smartphone that already has a real keyboard, and avoid the App Store/AT&T lock-in too. But that wouldn't be as bling, would it? And after all, the whole point of having an iPhone is to compensate for the lack of a male sexual organ. It's the cellphone equivalent of a 4x4 truck with 6-foot wheels.

oh man, why add something you don't need...

What is needed is the ability to use a bluetooth keyboard.

But Apple has locked down and disabled bluetooth, so that is not an option.

The number of foolish kludges that folks need to invent to get around Apple's design flaws (especially the intentional design flaws, like crippled bluetooth) is truly astounding.

I miss my Treo. I want Android to succeed. The longer I use my 3GS, te less I like it.

I usually turn my iPhone on it's side to use the keyboard, so this would be useless for me. I don't think a lot of thought went into this.
