Golfer Michael Allen has an LCD screen right on his bag

A company called Pro Bag Ads must have watched Caddyshack a few too many times because it's installing LCD screens on the bags of pro golfers. 2009 PGA champ Michael Allen is the only participating golfer at the moment, and — instead of blasting tunes or playing cartoons — his sun-guarded HD LCD panel plays ads from his sponsors.

From Pro Bag Ads:

Typically advertisers are limited to brand marketing in the form of logoed accessories such as shirts, hats, pants and bags. Pro Bag Ads can be run at varying speeds, changes can be easily made to maximize exposure for the locations of store fronts or the locations were your produces and services can be purchased relative to the region the event is in.

Michael Allen, who recently won the Senior PGA Championship on the Champions Tour and plays on the regular PGA Tour at 50 years old will be carrying the multimedia system promoting 19th Hole Wines and information on his favorite charity, children's diabetes.

When will wasting power end??

Is there anything wrong with a sticker, tag or sign if you have to advertise.

Just what the world needs, lifestyles of the rich and shameless golfers going through batteries just for the sake of having a flashy golf bag with a big w**k display.

It's a waste of power and resources and frankly in this day and age where we need to start thinking about saving power and using less, this idea is frankly distastful and the designers are a disgrace to the planet.

I'm just glad I'm not his caddy. This is one step below putting ads on math tests as they do to pay for education in California.

But does it have a stereo, beer tap or remote control golf clubs? NO, didn't think so.

As much as I hate advertisers, the idea is ahead of the technology. When cheap, color e-paper becomes cheap enough to be mass produced and tacked on anywhere, we won't just see this on golf bags. It'll be everywhere. Advertisers are licking their chops to charge more. It's like the ads depicted in move, The Minority Report.

They already have huge LCDs adverts on the sides of NYC buses.
