Bloodbot draws blood from the brave
If you hate needles when you need to have blood drawn by a doctor, something tells me that having a robot man the needle instead isn't going to rid you of your phobia. Instead, it might just add a fear of robots on top of it.
But that's just what might happens, thanks to the creation of the Bloodbot. It uses a needle and a probe to find a vein, although its accuracy rate is a mere 78%. And who knows what it does when it's inaccurate. Does it miss by a millimeter, or does it tear your forearm off? For our sakes, I hope it's the former.

You would not have to worry about a chatty/jittery/not paying attention to her task nurse jerking the needle about while it is in you, inflicting more pain, and the nurse's I've had have had terrible aim anyway, so this might just be an improvement.

Yeah, 78% doesn't sound too bad from my experience w/ doctors. I generally get both arms stuck, and they dig around in there like they're looking for gold. Not joking here, needles don't hurt but dang do they get annoying after it's been swept back and forth inside your arm for a minute or so. Add to that the occasional infiltration (meaning they poked a hole in the vein and you get a big ole blood blister up half your arm that makes you look like a heroin addict) and this robot's accuracy sounds downright dreamy to me :D

Surprisingly I never had a problem with doctors finding a vein. I used to give blood every year and sometimes twice a year and I never had a problem with the doctors and nurses. 78% isn't so bad for the most part though. I mean I've seen some nurses not be able to find a vein in one arm and then start poking in the other arm. Not cool. http://ZiggyTek.com/
