Fill the tank at the bottom of this Solar Power Shower, place it in a sunny spot, and two hours later you have 8 liters of 140-degree water. It's a lot more sophisticated than a simple camping solar shower, because this one mixes that 140° water with cool water from the garden hose, giving you plenty of toasty warm water at just the right temperature.
Because it's only using part of that heated water at a time, the manufacturer says "you and your family can take several showers consecutively before the tank needs to reheat." Might be a good $200 way to comfortably rinse off sand without tracking it all over your beachside McMansion.

BREAKING NEWS: the technology for mixing cold water with really hot water to make it usable is in existence... well, in every place you can find a faucet with a Hot and Cold knob. Good job on uncovering that sophisticated mystery.

*sigh*
the whole point of the device is to use heat energy provided by the sun to heat up 8 liters of water rather than spending money on energy from the infrastructure. did you even read the article?
this is a pretty cool idea actually. In Martha's Vineyard (MA), there is a public restroom in Menemsha that has giant panels on the roof which are filled with tubes of water. The water absorbs heat from the sun and that is used as the source for hot water in the sinks. Very nice way to save energy.

Pretty cool idea?
Camping guys already use it for ages- nothing new about it. And besides, even there are those mysterious knobs..

I used a device that worked on the same principle back in the 70's. When camping it was just left in the sun or strapped to the roof of my 4x4 while driving. It was a large black bag that absorbed sunlight and the water absorbed the heat. Nothing new here!

ABomb, KEith & Satori:
A) Nowhere in the brief article above does it say it is "new", so thanks for pointing out nothing. It even mentions a solar camping shower as an example of a (possibly) less sophisticated version, so again, thanks for responding to something that's not there.
B) Computers are not "new" either, but that doesn't mean improvements can't be made. This is an example of an improvement. Geez.
