A desktop phone with the heart of a cellphone

Cloud Telecomputers' Android Glass phone is a desktop phone that has a corded handset and is meant to stay put on a desk. But it also is loaded with Android, Google cellphone OS. Wha?

The phone, which sports an 8-inch touchscreen, brings the many features of smartphones to the desktop. You get apps like visual voicemail, calendars, SMS and email. You know, stuff that you can get on your computer. I'm sure there are some people out there who want this, but to me it seems like the inconvenience of a cripple mobile OS coupled with the inconvenience of an immobile and bulky computer. All this for between $600 and $700! What a deal!

lmfao! oh come on! this is a waste of space. whats the point of making it a mobile device when its not supposed to be mobile? this is like taking a step back, taking a step forward and then taking a step back again...

(1) Hire a proofreader.
(2) Calling Android "crippled" is like calling the iPhone "economical." If you can't see that, you're severely unqualified to be reviewing tech.

I don't see why anyone would want to buy this device. It makes no sense. For the price of the device you can buy a very nice smart phone and get all those features. Most people don't want to be stuck to their desk while on the phone. If I want to read emails, I'll be on my computer or iPhone, not the desktop phone. http://ziggytek.com/

Its not supposed to be mobile, its just an ordinary phone that happens to have android as an OS.

Videoconferencing ??? Probably wouldn't be hard to add a webcam.

You could have your calendar or email displayed all the time and not have to stop what you are doing on your computer to check them.

I'd way rather have a $350 netbook sitting beside the phone that I could use for other things.

I can see a use for this, it would be a huge step up from the current phones we use at the office and in the servicedesk as it would allow more features to be moved away from an already crowded desktop.
