Designer Scott Amron put on his thinking cap once again, and this time he's created the key that also functions as its own key ring. No need to clutter up your pockets with excess metal and such; you might as well combine the two functions in one object. Split Ring Key blanks come in a pack of two for $7.
Why hasn't anyone thought of this before? Because we have clever idea guys like Scott to think these up for us, that's why. This is not the first time he's come up with a great idea — his brilliant Brush & Rinse Toothbrush will be ready for widespread production at the end of this month.

looks cool, but this is an example of design that is self limiting. you should really only have 1, or maximum 2 of these. imagine if all your keys looked like this?

No one has asked yet.... HOW DO YOU GRIP THE DAMN KEY?
By PTRICKY at 11:30 PM ON 07/08/09
ummmm... from the ring?

The heads of the keys are important, ask anyone who copies such keys at various retailers.Ther shape denotes the brand, thus you know which blank to use.

Silliness! How do you get anything around the key?!? Sure, you can slip some other key onto the split ring, then when you slide it around, there seems to be some metal in the way...

No. It works. I tried it.

The key shown is a Kwikset KW1, that blank and the Schlage SC1 make up about 90% of the keys in the US. Kwikset is primarily eastern, Schlage is the west.
Next is Yale(mostly New England), then Chicago/Ilco/National and the rest, most of which have merged over the last 20 years into the ILCO (International Lock Co.) brand.

LOL what if it got stuck in the key hole ???(hope the ring would't be twisted and break off Xp) and how can i turn the key when inserted + i agree with Dvice Reader thats an annoying circumstances~~~

Yeah, the gripping would be a problem for me. But it's an awesome concept.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a ridiculous idea? What happens when I need to let someone else borrow the key; Ill have to take every other key off the ring before giving it to them. What problem does this solve?
