Although some USB gadgets are either useless trinkets purely meant for fun or so impractical that they border on the ridiculous, sometimes USB manufacturers get something right. The new USB Solar Charger from Japan's Thanko is just one such device.
Although the makers claim the device can charge a variety of objects, it appears that its main focus is charging mobile phones. And, if you're experiencing a series of cloudy, sunless days, you can also change the device via USB outlet on your computer. You can pick up your solar charger for just 1,980 yen ($21) here.

Hey! How do I get one? Obviously ordering it from the Thanko site is not an option. When Google translates the page, it says things like this: "The evolution stripe it does times, the seed! Charge possibility, it is full regardless with solar optical generation of electricity and it is the electrical machinery and appliances! 1,980 Yen (including tax)", instead of things like this: "Click Here To Order".
So...I feel like I want to start jumping up and down and screaming "i want it i want it i want it i want it i want it", and rightly so. Obviously, that's gonna be waaay more annoying than my comment. Spare my friends the pain and tell me where i can order one? Or not...you know, whatever...
