Tron Legacy light cycle footage
In case you missed it, our sister blog Sci Fi Wire has the full test footage for the Tron Legacy light-cycle race, which debuted at last year's Comic-Con and screened again this year in 3-D when the sequel's name and other details were revealed. The footage is a test that was meant to sell the concept; the success of the footage last year was instrumental in getting the sequel green-lighted.
Tron Legacy picks up the story of the original film, then jumps ahead more than 25 years with a new story about Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the son of original Tron hero Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges).

Geez, you guys... we did say, "In case you missed it." We thought it was cool and posted it for anyone who hadn't seen it yet. No need to hate on it — we have plenty of other posts that you might find more timely.
But in any case, we really do appreciate you reading and taking the time to comment, even if you're not super thrilled with what you see.

@PeterPachal - Oh don't mistake, content has never been an issue with DyVyc, the issue is timing. The lag time on some stories is just remarkable. Keep up the good work, lets just bump up those deadlines.

I like the preview. However I didn't like the black outfits. The thing that made the original Tron look cool was to see the energy flow on all the people. Otherwis it was really cool.

Thats funny...they needed test footage to determine if a sequel would sell?
Isnt the original movie still a big dvd sell?
I thought that I read that it was up there on the list and that people have been wanting a sequel for years.
Even still...Disney has released sequels of other movies without any market polling (ex. Jungle Book 2 and others).
Eh..I cant figure out Hollywood anyway.

Well, either everyone involved is ultra talented or sorely inexperienced. At leas one of the writers has some serious TV experienced.
the clip, at least, look cool enough- Neon Noir with a soundtrack the seduces you instead of banging you over the head.
TRON was a hand-tooled labor of love by Steven Lisberger. His oarticipation looks to be limited.
TRON is a senminal cyber-punk work. Not asking for real input of the original creator could be problematic.
At least it has Bridges, Boxlietner, and John Hurt.
