Cooking is great and all, but who likes having to sit there and stir something as it cooks? Not me. I have better things to do with my time than drag a wooden spoon around in a circle for 15 minutes. I'm a big important guy!
That's why I appreciate the convenience of the Stirr, a battery-powered automatic stirrer. Simply stick it in the pot, push the power button and let it do its thing. It'll stir your soup for as long as you need it to, keeping it from getting burned while you go finish that book you were reading. Cooking, it's just so much fun getting hands-on with your food!

So what I'd like to know is, how does it turn when it's not attached to anything? Can it only turn when it's in a thin soup?

It doesn't 'stir' at all. It vibrates and wanders around randomly constrained by the edges of your pan/pot.
