At first glance, the A to D battery concept looks like a winning idea. Designed by Pyeong Joo Goh, Jong Seung Choi and Ji Soo Hong, the nickel hydroxide rechargeable storage cell is made from memory foam and you can just squish it down to the size you want instead of buying a bunch of different batteries to fit each of your different gadgets.
I'm not sure, however, whether the A to D would work, or whether it's one of those ideas that are brilliant in theory but utter pants in practice. Kind of like putting this guy in this suit. Eek!

That's just silly. It's not the length, it's the breadth that counts. The elastic recoil alone... :).

So these goofy fellows in Korea think that the "convenience" of only having one size of battery makes up for the lack of mAH capacity in something that takes as much space a "D" cell but only packs the power of an "AA" cell?
Does the word "morons" mean anything to you? There's a reason that "D" cells are used for devices that have to run for a long time, or pull a lot of current (comparatively speaking).
This design is total pants.

What about those AA cell devices where you don't want your battery to expand inside? Once you put this in you're never going to get it out.

You can get the same effect by wrapping the smaller battery in duct tape. Good for emergencies but not much else.
