Producer reveals the plot of \<i\>Asteroids\<\/i\> movie

IGN cornered producer Lornezo di Bonaventura while he was promoting G.I. Joe in London. They managed to get him to reveal this tidbit about the upcoming Asteroids movie he's also producing:

We've crafted a really strong, deep mythology for the thing. Without divulging too much about it, it's two lead characters — two brothers — who have to go through a seminal experience to figure out their relationship, against this huge backdrop.
I'm getting a strong Pearl Harbor vibe. How much do you want to bet they're both in love with the same woman?

Yeah- 'a seminal relationship between two brothers" that wording sounds pretty iffy.

There's no way a movie can actually be tied to Asteroids that would be interesting AT ALL.

Sounds like they're making a sci-fi movie and just randomly linking it to "Asteroids the Movie". GAH!

Why can't they just make a GOOD sci-fi movie and leave the old classic games alone?!?

It's better than a semenal relationship between two brothers.
