This is iKey's new AK-39 keyboard, designed to be mounted on your arm. Designed with soldiers in mind, this thing can withstand harsh electromagnetic interference and has LED backlighting that's compatible with night vision goggles.
Sure, there aren't a lot of uses for this for civilians, but if you ever need to send out some text messages in a war zone, you'll be happy to have one of these on hand.

I can see this being highly useful for silent communication when necessary on the battlefield. I've seen some wacky concepts like a vest that uses certain vibrations to send silent commands and communications, but this seems a bit more practical.

Needs 10-key for rapid transmission of grid coordinates. Call for fire is where this would make you money.

I think semperfi brings up a good point. My main concern is that the keys as they are now would simply be too small for someone wearing gloves to really type with. Personally my fingers are already feel too big for an iPhone...

Interestingly similar to some work I did years ago on an arm-mounted computer/laser scanner: http://www.coroflot.com/public/individual_file.asp?from_url=true&individual_id=61340&portfolio_id=2522343&is_featured=-1& (I'll be posting another entry showing development of the arm-mounting strap next week).

I love the Power Glove...it's so bad.

I agree, typing on this whilst wearing gloves would be a nightmare. And pulling off the glove to type for a moment would be a mistake.... and even then it looks like a girl-hand-sized keyboard.

Hmm, so how would the communications from that thing looks like when you're desperately one hand mashing the board with your gloves on? This demands a test!
