Coolest Bluetooth headset ever transforms into a ring with data display
The Bluetooth headset might finally become cool again. That is, if this Orb actually ships in January 2010, transforming from a useful little ring you wear on your finger into a snazzy-looking appliance hanging from your ear.
While in its ring form, its flexible organic light emitting diode (FOLED) displays caller ID, calendar items and voice-to-text info, and if you want to answer a call, simply take the ring off your finger, twist it into its headset shape, and hang it on your ear for hands-free talking.
This is such a forward design, we were thinking it was a mere concept, but no — it'll go on sale in January, with the base model selling for $129, and the Deluxe Edition (the one with that FOLED display) following in April for $175. Now if they could just make that little ring vibrate when a phone call comes in, it would be the ideal Bluetooth headset. Here's a close-up:

now that is cool, I think i'll get one when it comes out. They need more of these cutting edge gadgets to be more than "mere concepts"....it's almost 2010 for crying out loud!!

Judging simply from your chosen internet name, you really should be the last person giving opinions on technology. This is an awesome concept and if you would refuse to wear it just because people might look at you in an odd manner (OMG HE LOOKED AT ME) then you're a tool. Have fun using your rotary telephone.

I actually like this. You don't have to look like the douche bag that has there blue tooth in there ear 24/7 because they think they're that important even when there just grocery shopping. It;s just a simple unsuspecting ring and when you get a call you just take it off, give it twist and talk. I'm usually not a bandwagon type of person when it comes to fashion and trends but I do like this, it has form and function.

I hope it's waterproof because I can just imagine how many people are going to complain about getting a refund. The reason being their forgetfulness to take it off in the shower or bath. It would also be great if it vibrated for incoming calls, like it says in the article.
