BMW Halbo concept: tiny motorcycle, hugely unsafe looking

The conceptual BMW Halbo is one tiny motorcycle. According to the designer, it only takes up half as much space as your average bike. It's got your standard wheel up front with a motor built into it, and the rear wheel is actually spherical, mounted on an arm that can move from side to side to help keep the whole thing balanced. That's good, because falling off this thing or getting in a collision looks like it'd be fatal.

Designer Pierre Yohanes Lubis reckons the bike would be good for "eco-minded young individuals," though he should probably add thrill-seeker in there somewhere. Check out the gallery below for more of the Halbo.

Wonder how much a replacement tire will cost?

And when you hit the brake, splat, face first into the pavement.

I had it up to here with all this eco bling. This device is a lot of things but it is not eco. Period. It gets really annoying if everything is labeled as eco these days.
Just because something runs on batteries doesn't make it solar powered. Just because something has an electric drive instead of being combustion powered doesn't make it green. It just is electrical.

Get over yourself.

Aaaaaaa. no .

I don't think that you'd neccessarily faceplant if they balanced what little bike there is well. Most of the stopping power in any motorcycle is in the front brake. Most sportbike riders rarely use the rear brake anyway for daily driving. There's just no need to. I'm more interested to know more about the spherical rear wheel, mainly how it would handle in a full lean turn. Once you start dragging a knee, you're only on the edge of the tire, how well/difficult would balancing in a turn on a ball be.

Looking like good, but do not think so many uses of this. Yes you can reduce traffic to use that.
What is its top seed?

It's stupid. If he said it was purely art, I'll give him that but I wouldn't ride one. Gimme an old postwar Indian or Harley any day!
