The years of the Cold War between the U.S. and the Soviet Union were fraught with anxiety, so it should come as no surprise that the Russians also relaxed their nerves with their own, uniquely Russian, arcade games. Now those hulking boxes of gaming that look like they're from an alternate universe can be seen thanks to the Museum of Soviet Arcade Games.
The one pictured here is called Naval Battle and made its original debut way back in 1981. This is just one example of what the Russians had available, you can plow deeper into the history of a fascinating gaming world you never (assuming you're not Russian) experienced here.

I remember playing something similar to that when I was younger, at a county fair arcade, mid '70's.

What you don't know is that these 'arcade machines' where ACTUALLY remote controls for all the Russian weapons of war..
Little Petrovski thinks he's playing a computer game when in actual fact he's bombing the sh*t out of an American battle cruiser..
Damn Commies!
