Word Clock tells time, sort of, with elegant beauty

Word Clock tells time, sort of, with elegant beauty

This is an unusual design for a desk clock, shaped like a baton with its clear acrylic tube, and spelling out the time in terse approximations. One thing that's not a rough estimation: its elegant design. It's not for perfectionists, though, offering a kinda/sorta approach to timekeeping.

Created by designers Hans Muller and Hans van Dongen, the 24-inch-long timepiece looks like a thermometer with rubber bumpers on each end. Like most forward design, this objet d'art doesn't come cheap, setting you back $229.

The designers were probably listening to Chicago a little bit too long, i.e., "does anybody really know what time it is?" Yeah, I could tell you if I didn't have this stupid-- but nicely designed-- clock in front of me!
