If you ever wanted to see what the phase shifting of a body going through a Star Trek transporter looks like in real life, you won't do much better than the recent exhibit by Makoto Tojiki.
The artist created this LED light sculpture called "The Man With No Shadow" and showed off his work at the recent Salone Satellite event in Italy. Tojiki reveals little about his technical methodology, but the futurist bent of the work speaks for itself. You can check out more stunning images of the LED man here.

This guy is so worthy. He's the Michelangelo of Light, the Rembrandt of the Rheostat.

Looking at photos up close this looks like fiberoptic not LED.

Wow!! I am so glad to be a member of device. To see this kind of creative interleaving of sci-fi and art and tech gives me goosebumps.
What a champion! It mimics a pose i remember fondly from a certain definative Star Trek film.
This guy deserves some serious attention!

It looks to me to be fibre optic with led incorporated.
It's so simple tech wise but to arrange it all in such an inspiring way is just magnificent, and i can imagine painstaking! lol.
