Here's a questionable iPod accessory: the Super Mini Cube. This portable speaker is so small that it's got to sound about as good as a cellphone speaker, if not worse. It has a 3.5mm stereo jack, allowing you to plug any audio player into it, but I can't imagine a situation in which you'd want to.
But hey, perhaps you just need to hear the sound without headphones and you don't care what the quality is like. In that case, well, it's only $10.

Why is the a mini-USB connector?

This isn't QUITE perfect for people listening to MP3 players when they shouldn't be. A lot of companies don't like you wearing headphones, and bar music of any kind in the workplace, and I've even seen one person be denied medical compensation from a company on the basis that their cell phone was playing music, quietly, from their pocket. If it was thinner you could easily conceal it in a hat tho, and no one would be able to hear it without leaning in close.
I listen to my Samsung Beat phone which I keep tucked into my bandanna under my hair. Boss said as long as he can't see or hear it he doesn't care.
