Robot snake is the IDF's latest battlefield innovation

So just where the melon-farming farm is Samuel L. Jackson when you need him? Joining Big Dog in the menagerie of weird weapons comes robosnake, a nifty little robot that does battlefield surveillance and reconnaissance. The two-foot-long critter, which reminds me of those snake-in-a-box toys from a while back, can crawl along the ground, shimmy through rubble and even stand up to broadcast images and sound to a control post.

The snake, developed by Israel's Defense Ministry alongside experts from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, does more than just look-see, however. It could even be made to carry explosives, making it quite the deadly little serpent.

Big Dog and RoboSnake are enough to give you nightmares. I pity the poor fool who ever wants to f**k with them.

Izraeli bigest murder in the world. Classic.

Actually, they are simply trying to defend themselves from the biggest murderers in the world... if you really want to get technical.

Never get involved in a land war in asia (minor).

I agree with eidylon and Anonymous. Re the robosnake, I might add don't get involved in a war anywhere there are snakes. I'm surprised that antisemetic comment was allowed to ride as long as it has. God forbid if anyone should call Palestinians murderers.

Though it was made by the Israeli defense industry this will probably find work in covert spy ops and in rescue situations where small spaces are an issue such as building collapses and such. It could be a real boon in a disaster such as an earthquake or mine collapse.

How apt the Israelis develop just what the devious world needs. Yet another snake-in-the-grass. Mossad must be so proud!

Moshiach is coming ... on the back of serpent?
