Apple ran through a boatload of details of their upcoming Snow Leopard OS today, including the great news that upgrading to it will cost a mere $29 for current Mac users when it arrives in September.
Snow Leopard is going to look pretty similar to what you're used to, but it's been completely rewritten for speed upgrades all across the board. From installation, which is 45% faster and takes up 6GB less space, to opening files and surfing the web, it should make computing much zippier, especially if you have a 64-bit, multi-core processor. Look for it in September for the aforementioned cheapo upgrade price of $29.

Because you should have to pay more to update your $500 computer that cost you over two grand.
Enjoy all those awesome games.

I'm sorry, I guess I missed part of the article that started talking bad about Macs. I thought this was an article about Snow Leopard and it's price. Maybe that's what the comments are for. Hmmm.
Plenty of mainstream games are available for Macs. So quit being sour, sourpuss.

It will be a nice update. Macs are definitely overpriced but its well worth the price to have the macbooks. They a far superior design to anything the other Windows based companies have turned out. When microsoft starts having laptops with the crazy nice trackpad and operating system we have (Windows 7 is a great start) i will switch back. Until then no way.

So are you ready for pay $29 to get features like this:
(from apple's snow leopard info page):
"Restore deleted items to original folders
If you put an item in the Trash, then change your mind, you can restore it to its original location. Just select the item in the Trash folder and choose Put Back from the File menu."
