MUR-01 speaker chair doesn't seem quite logical

MUR-01 speaker chair doesn\'t seem quite logical

Nothing makes music sound better than sitting on speakers, right? I guess that's the idea behind the MUR-01 rocking chair from Irisohyama. It's a low rocker with a build-in 8.5-watt 2.1 speaker system.

Yeah, I'm sure those whopping 8.5 watts are super powerful and everything, but what's wrong with regular speakers? I have trouble seeing the purpose for this thing. Maybe as a gaming chair it'd be OK, but you'd need to run cables to the chair in the middle of your living room for that to work. I'll pass.

These have been out for years and are always overpriced. They are a cool novelty, but just not useful.

I came across one while school supply shopping last semester at Wal-Mart on clearance for like $29, so I gave it a try. I was busy plotting how I would run the cables across the living room to pipe in the sound, when my wife found a small device in the bottom of the box that allows for wireless transmission of the sound. Great feature! I still don't know why it wasn't mentioned on the box, though.
