We've been following the progress of Michael Arrington's CrunchPad tablet PC for some time now, but this is the first time I think I actually want one. They've just unveiled the launch prototype, and man is it slick.
This web-centric tablet should be announced officially next month, where details like pricing and availability will hopefully be made known. We'll see if it performs as well as it looks.

I want one too. Whoever designed that whacko toilet a few posts ago should study this and take notes.

Aside from ebooks (where a real ebook reader would be much nicer), there are few scenarios where you will be browsing without typing. However onscreen keyboard is way more flexible, as like ipod touch and iphone etc..

I havent yet been in the opportunitty to use an ebook reader but im also not eager to. With small monochrome displays, unnecessary buttons, they just seam like something from 10 yeas ago.
This however looks very nice, and since it was suppose to cost about $250 it seams as the must-have for those long car, train or bus rides. But since this device uses wi-fi to work properly i would still wait for the next version in which they would maybe incorporate a nice size hdd, a media player, a web cam etc, so you can use it in places where wi-fi is not found on every step of the way ;)
