Big Brother in your own home with the Eye dot me

Ah, lights *sighs softly whilst puffing on a meerschaum pipe* — I love 'em. I'm not sure, however, about this design, on show at this year's Berlin Design Festival, as it's all a bit too Winston Smith for me. Designed by Simon Schiessl and Felix Hardmood Beck, the Eye dot me lamp is a parasitic lamp that scans the room for individuals and then tracks them.

What makes it even spookier is that the LEDs in the base of the lamp are made to look like an actual human eye. You can see a video of the Eye dot me lamp casing the joint below, alongside a gallery. And check their sketches for the piece, they're horror-ific.
