An electronic pool float can't be all that safe

An electronic pool float can\'t be all that safe

Nothing says smart summer fun like floating on a piece of electronic equipment in your pool. What could possibly go wrong, after all?

The iPod Stereo Pool Oasis is a floating lounge chair that adds in an iPod dock and speakers as well as massage functionality. That's right, it's a floating massage chair. The iPod dock is in a waterproof sleeve, but if you want to change the song you're going to have to risk frying yourself or your iPod to do so. But hey, you aren't a caveman. You need your iPod while you're floating in the pool! It's only civilized.

This is just stupid. Who spends 200 dollars on a pool raft. Who would then put there iPod anywhere near the pool. I guess when you got money these things don't matter much but this is way out of the price and practicality range of normal people

Stick your tongue to the terminals on a 9-volt battery, and you'll feel more juice than you will feel touching the innards of an iPod with wet fingers...

These devices use TINY voltages - they are hardly dangerous when used around water...

(It's true that Tasers use 9V batteries to generate very high voltages - but they have to go to great pains to bump the voltages up that high)
