xYz handheld rumored to combine Xbox 360 and Zune
Here's a juicy rumor: could Microsoft be working on a portable gadget that combines the Xbox 360 with the Zune? Maybe!
The project, codenamed "xYz," is said to feature a WVGA touchscreen and a way to play music and movies on both the device as well as the Xbox 360. Basically, it's going to be a connected handheld gaming system with rich multimedia features. Sounds interesting, but will it actually come to exist? Time will tell.

I would buy this the day it came out. I have a Zune and an Xbox 360 and they both rock, so put them together and it would probably be really amazing.

WVGA would be a horrible mistake. Most games for the 360 now days use text and icons that can't even be read in standard definition.
There's also no way it'd be that small and still have the same processing power as the 360.

I doubt it is true... we still have a long wait until even the Zune HD comes out. I am sure I would buy one if it came out, but it looks to be at least 2 yeaars out if ever.

I love that they might be making a hand held Xbox but the fact they might put zune in the name is cheap i would like it without that in it, because i don't like zunes if they do have zune in the name it might be called zunebox or x-zune i would just call it Xbox 180 , Xbox hand held or Xbox pocket

I can imagine MS's thinking. "Hey we created a craptastic media player that nobody wanted maybe we can combine it with a half@ssed attempt at a handheld gaming device. Even if it just a rumor now, maybe people won't buy our competition's actual product. And when we do manage to ship 9 months to a year late we can still force retailers to take on huge inventories of them and then claim 'marketshare' "

I have a PSP and like it alot, but I also like to have options, I don't like to be tied down to just one certain kind of device or manufacturer. There is the Nintendo DS, but seriously, it's no competition for the PSP.
So if this thing pans out, yeah, I'd get one, and keep my PSP too!!
