Transparent Xbox 360 is lovely, but will just break your heart

Look, I'm as big a fan of awesome Xbox 360 case mods as the next guy, but I'm not sure I'd drop hundreds of dollars on one. I mean, sure, this transparent Xbox 360 case with a laser-etched Master Chief and blue LEDs is pretty slick, but you're just setting yourself up for heartbreak.

After all, with a normal Xbox 360, if it dies with the dreaded Red Ring of Death you can just send it in to Microsoft and get it fixed under the three-year standard warranty. With this guy, if it breaks you're pretty much screwed. So why risk it? I'd say it makes more sense to focus on the aesthetics of objects that don't have a high probability of needing replacement in the near future.

Just wait till it breaks, it seems thats all xboxes do.

All X-Boxes break? well, it seems like someone forgot to tell mine. I still have my original that I purchased back in 2002 and also my X-box 360 which i bought last year. Both still working like a charm. Now, ask me about Playstation... All are sitting in piles... unusable

all consoles fail, PCs are the way to go. get a part failure, replace it. you can upgrade and eventually all games come out on PC no matter what console. I can play GTA 4 then Gears of war and whatever my heart feels like.

really cool mod, but us PC gamers have been doing his for YEARS.

By Skittle at 10:08 PM ON 04/20/09

I agree with theoriginalgiga with the PC gamers.
I dont play all the time, but PC's are the best way to do it so much more power in them. This is a little off subject but when will Little Big Planet come out for PC's?

The clear case is really cool as well. Now just plug up all the wholes, make the Optical drive air tight and put some mineral oil in that sucker and it will be the best. With an air stone to add some cool effects with the bubbles.

@theoriginalgiga
@Skittle
do you live in a world that PCs never fail either? Or have compatibility issues?

By IsoTek at 1:16 AM ON 04/22/09

Nice case but I agree with theoriginalgiga
and Skittle which is why I have'nt purchased one of the next gen consoles. If I wanted one though the XBox360 probably would be my choice though.

@Tiki god, we PC users realize PC's fail all the time, its just when they do they can usually be user repaired by getting a replacement part. Consoles themselves cannot be easily repaired and apart from adding new controllers or now the occasional storage device, they are not very upgradeable. A computer can do any and everything the next gen consoles do. Computers are and will be the ultimate game machines like it or no.

Well if you take a spray can of duster and flip it upside down you can save the microsoft sticker that validates your warranty by spraying it frozen when you take your case off. If repair is needed simply switch your case back. I know this because I also have a clear case. Not as nice as this guys I must say, but still.

the xbox 360 holds 4 chips.and prosecors more powerful than any pc on the market..
like when the original xbox came out it was the first ever pentium 3 prosecor used on the market,,before they were even in pcs..so in a couple years the pc might catch up to the xbox..
