Despite some obvious disadvantages versus the Sony PSP and the Apple iPod, the Nintendo DS Lite just got a competitive feature boost--GPS navigation, courtesy of China's Fab Chain. Called the Ranger, the attachment gives you 2D and 3D turn-by-turn navigation and uses Google Maps to pinpoint your location.
The device has its own built-in batteries, thus avoiding energy strain on your DS, and it even works on a PC via USB connection. Pricing and release date have yet to be announced, but you can follow updates here.
