Inflatable shower curtain curtails the long, hot stay under the spray

As we all know, today is Earth Day — the reason why DVICE has gone green this week. So, as you get yourselves ready for work/play this morning, and do your ablutions and, bouncy-castle enthusiasts aside, thank your lucky jim-jams that your shower curtain wasn't designed by Elisabeth Buecher.

Entitled My Shower Curtain Is A Green Warrior, Buecher's bathroom accessory is actually a work of art. Designed to be wrapped around you, it inflates slowly around you, forcing you to cut your time in the shower or face being trapped. The Frenchwoman, who is part of London-based textile collective Puff and Flock, refers to her work as "design of threat and punishment."

"An alarm clock is not what we can call a pleasurable object," she continues. "It is often even painful to be awoken by it. However it is a necessary object, which regulates our lives and the society. That's what I call the "design for pain and for our own good."

This is an abuse of genius. Why waste time and water, taking two showers just to get one clean.
Design skills could be better used than trying to conserve water for an earth that is decidedly young and sustained by forces beyond man's control. (much less inflated shower curtains!!)

As if showers don't already kill enough people

Okay... so.. how is this curtain powered? Electricity? Yes... lets not only use water, but lets use more energy at the same time because thats more "green".

Are we sure this is not really just an elaborate sex toy?
