In-store GPS coming to confusing grocery stores for old people

Do you think you have a hard time finding your way around in a car? Well, what about when you're behind the wheels of a shopping cart? These modern grocery stores sure are confusing! Apparently!

In the UK, scientists are working on a device that helps oldsters find their way around grocery stores and their constantly changing layouts. It seems a little silly to be, but hey, if it's important enough for the British government to sink funding into, it's got to be a pretty big problem. Man, I never want to get old.

In-house GPS coming soon.

A better, cheaper idea: Make it legal to shoot store managers who change the store layout more than twice a year. Also make it legal to castrate or otherwise sterilise (perhaps boiling for 20 minutes?) marketing morons who think making "in-the-aisle" display stands is a good idea.

This is very disturbing. I mean honestly what is the world coming to! Next everybody will have motorized shopping carts with air conditioning and massaging backrests! Ridiculous!

Better watch what you wish for.

This sounds like a great idea for the consumers, but the marketing people will be up in arms. They've spent billions of dollars analyzing consumers' shopping habits; part of the reason why layouts keep changing is specifically to force customers to spend more time wandering around the aisles, in a less-than-forlorn hope that the customers will spend money on stuff they didn't know about and didn't think they wanted to buy.
I, for one, would happily bet cashy-money that the GPS directions will be subject to "adjustment" by marketers, who will still want to make sure that the poor shoppers are directed past everything that they've ever purchased in the past, as well as items related to all of those items, long before they're allowed anywhere near what they are actually trying to find at any given moment.

Thanks for sharing such great post, according to me scientists are working on a device that helps oldsters find their way around grocery stores and their constantly changing layouts, is the great idea and it will be very helpful for old age people.
