Human Washing Machine ready to scrub hygiene-challenged geeks

The Star Trek-inspired sonic shower has yet to arrive from the future, but in the meantime a Japanese company has an equally convenient way to scrub yourself called the Human Washing Machine.

Avant's Santelubain 999 allows you to lie down and relax as the automatic cleaning device does nearly everything: shampoos and showers the body, emits steam heat, provides sound and aromatherapy, and even applies lotion and seaweed packs. Until the Japanese androids in nurse outfits are actually ready to scrub the more lazy among us, this might be the next best thing.

Think of the masage jets that could be riged in that!

I doubt it was factored highly by the designers, but there is a reasonable market for this.
I have severe chronic vertigo. You might be amazed at what a chore the "simple" act of bathing or showering has become. Every little movement adds to my discomfort and instability, and it is surprising how many little movements are involved in getting oneself clean. I haven't resisted bathing this much since I was 10 years old. I would love to be able to lay down for a few minutes and know that when I get up I am actually clean again. I am sure that there are some elderly with restricted movements who would feel the same way.
As I said, I doubt we were the target market for the designers, but if I had a bit of spare change, I'd be looking in to this.
