On the crowded Japanese train system the only thing you'll see commuters obsessively staring at more than their super-advanced cell phones is the portable gaming system known as the Nintendo DS. Now a new device called the Health Control Game Timer has been released to help these gamers regulate their DS addiction. If you find that your play sessions have been going on too long, the device can be set to stop your game play after a certain amount of time.
The device also features a distance sensor that will flash a red light when your face gets too close to the screen during those unusually intense gaming sessions. Whoever develops this kind of thing for desktop World Of Warcraft players will make a fortune. For now you can pick up the DS version of this digital watchdog for just 3,990 yen ($40) here and check out video of the Health Control Game Timer in action here.

I don't think this would really matter to World of Warcraft gamers...
"the device can be set to stop your game play after a certain amount of time."
Can you just imaging your system shutting down right in the middle of a 25-man raid just because you've played a minute over? That would suck big time. I would really hate it if that happened to me.

When I think of all the time some of my friends spend on WoW, no matter what level they're on, this thing would definitely help break the habit. Some guys don't leave their house for days playing WoW. er, wow.

This is a nice device but to bad it is obsolete already and it is not out on the market. the new ds has done away with the gameboy port and added a added a sd card slot.

WoW does have an alarm clock built into it, but like WoW Gold said, it is unfeasibly to just close the game when the time is up, and once you have "the snooze button", player will just keep hitting it infinitely. I know I would

If you go to the WoW Account Management area you can set up "Parental Controls" to prevent you from playing during certain hours of the day. I would think you could set that up to help you break your addiction.
