

I always appreciate old objects being updated for the 21st century, and objects don't get much older than the sundial. Used for telling time when shadow-based technology was the bleeding edge, it's not quite as useful now. Unless you add lasers. Then it gets pretty awesome.
That's what the Laserdial is: a sundial that ditches the boring old sun for a sweet laser. The laser is mounted on an RC servo that's driven by a micro controller, which keeps the time and rotates the laser. Sure, it's not as easy to read as a digital watch, but it's much harder to put a Laserdial on your wrist.
