Remember the theremin? It's the ghostly-sounding electronic instrument made famous by the Beach Boys that you play by waving your hand above it to adjust the tone. It's back, and this time it's portable.
The Japanese Premium Theremin is small, weighing just 12 ounces, and it works the same way as a full-size one. You raise and lower your right hand to change the pitch and your left to alter the volume. For an even weirder sound, you can even add a synthesizer like Gakken's own analogue synth. The sound is apparently just the same as when Brian Wilson first dazzled the world with it on Pet Sounds.

I don't play any instruments, but the theremin is one I want to learn to play. Such an ethereal sound.
