The debut of the Kindle 2 and the subsequent release of the Kindle software for the iPhone proves that the world is finally ready for the mainstreaming of eBook readers. Nevertheless, most book fans in Asia still don't have the Kindle, so iRiver Japan plans to serve the market with their own Libre eBook reader.
The stylishly spartan device offers PDF support, a joystick controller, audio output and an SD data card slot. Pricing and release date have yet to be revealed, but considering iRiver's insanely fast product cycles we'll probably see an even more advanced version of this from the company relatively soon.

This IS the eSlick. It's also the Bookeen Cybook Gen3 (in white). And the Orsio B271, etc. Why do I say that? Because all of these are based upon the Netronix EB100/EB600 device and that's all this is.
